Empirical Model of Discretized Copper Ore Flow Within the Underground Mine Transport System

Abstract: A model of the transport system in a copper ore mine was prepared using FlexSim software and the simulations were performed for five days. Empirical parameters were applied to each item of the transport system in order for the ore transport times to correspond to the actual conditions. Both the class-and the loading point-specific haul truck courses were based on the five-day schedule. Mean inter-arrival times were modelled for haul trucks according to empirical histograms. The ore portions were discretized an… Show more

“…The main problem, which should be solved in the actuators of sieving screens and other vibrating machines for bulk-material processing, is the tuning of frequency, amplitude, and trajectory (orbit) in the course of the operation when the properties of the sieved media change (Gursky et al [66]) and these changes are quite difficult to predict or track (Bardzinski et al [67][68][69]). Screen-parameter tuning is difficult to realize in the standard design with unbalanced vibrators and requires different technical solutions (Gurski et al [70,71]).…”

“…In modern mining operations, digital solutions support many design processes, such as ventilation (wallace et al 2015), rock stability issues (Mayer 2011;Vallejos et al 2018) or haulage (Bardzinski et al 2019). Digitized geological data can also be used in an assessment of deposits value (the mutual impact of uncertainty and variability of geological, mining parameters of coal deposits and market prices was analyzed, among others, by Kopacz et al (Kopacz et al 2018).…”

“…So, signal by definition is time–varying and nonstationary. Moreover, the material stream feeding to the sieving screen consists of various size particles from sand-like to oversized (tens of centimeters) pieces of rock [ 6 , 7 , 8 ]. It generates massive impulsive noise with strongly non-Gaussian properties.…”
