Karakteristik gerakan tanah akibat gempabumi dipengaruhi oleh variasi nilai kecepatan gelombang geser (Vs). Ketersediaan nilai Vs suatu daerah belum tentu lengkap dan siap, hal ini disebabkan oleh penyelidikan langsung guna memperoleh nilai Vs memerlukan waktu relatif lama dan biaya yang tidak sedikit. Selain itu juga dipengaruhi oleh tingkat keterjangkauan suatu daerah pengujian. Berbeda halnya dengan data jumlah pukulan (N) dari uji Standard Penetration Test (NSPT) yang lebih banyak tersedia. Dewasa ini telah banyak dilakukan penelitian persamaan korelasi nilai Vs dari data NSPT, meskipun demikian tingkat keandalan antara satu dengan lainnya tidaklah sama. Studi ini bertujuan mengembangkan korelasi yang reliabel antara Vs dan NSPT untuk kategori semua jenis tanah. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan mengumpulkan dan menganalisis data hasil pengujian geofisika dan geoteknik kemudian melakukan analisis regresi non-linear. Dari hasil perhitungan diperoleh korelasi Vs = 98,759NSPT0,3101 untuk kategori semua jenis tanah di area pulau nuklir Tapak RDE, Serpong. Korelasi ini mampu memprediksi Vs dengan cukup baik dan cepat, tanpa harus melakukan pengukuran yang memerlukan biaya lebih banyak dan waktu lebih lama.

Some locations or site studies do not have adequate geophysical and geotechnical data due to the cost and time constraint. A strong correlation between shear wave velocity (Vs), Standard Penetration Test (SPT-N) values and soil density could be an alternative method to estimate those parameters without additional investigation or data acquisition. This study investigates the empirical correlation among Vs, SPT-N values, and bulk density in the Bangsar region. The research employs an extensive dataset collected from Lorong Bukit Pantai 4, Bangsar and Jalan Bangsar, Bangsar. Vs measurements are obtained using Multichannel Analysis Surface Waves (MASW) Survey. SPT-N is extracted from geotechnical borehole records, and bulk density is determined through laboratory testing. Statistical analyses, including correlation coefficients and regression analysis, are applied to assess the relationships among Vs, SPT-N, and bulk density. Vs = 73.171N0.4365, and Vs = 42.985ρ3.4576 with a regression coefficient of R2 = 0.9863 and R2 = 0.888 is the "Power Model" from non-linear regression analysis that is used to generate the correlation. Numerous statistical techniques, such as Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) analysis and Graphical Residual Analysis, have been used to assess the accuracy of the proposed correlation. A strong correlation between Vs, SPT-N values and soil density could be an alternative method to estimate those parameters without additional investigation or data acquisition, result in time and cost savings by reducing the need for extensive and redundant testing.

The shear wave velocity (Vs) is an important dynamic parameter in the field of geotechnical engineering. One of the surface wave methods is Spectral Analysis of Surface Wave (SASW) has received attention in obtaining the shear wave velocity (Vs) profile by analysing the dispersion curve. SASW is a non-destructive test, fast and time-effective for field survey. Thus, this paper proposed the application of SASW method to obtain the shear wave velocity (Vs) to represent the soil profile. This paper aims to determine the shear wave velocity (Vs) profile using SASW method, where the testing has been conducted at three site of residual soils located in Damansara, Kuala Lumpur and Nilai area. In this study, it shows that the soil profile obtained from shear wave velocity value is similar pattern with profile that obtained using Standard Penetration Testing (SPT), which conventional used in field. The shear wave velocity are proportionally increase with depth.
