The film Photocopier depicts how its main character, a victim of sexual harassment, exercised her feminist resistance toward hegemonic and patriarchal power in society. Studies have been conducted in the past to examine feminist resistance in this film and a few other films. Yet, none have looked closely into students' responses to feminist resistance in those films. Engaging students in responding to film contents is important because films have the potential to provoke students’ critical thinking and emotions toward various issues in society, such as issues related to the victimization of women. To address the gap in research, this study aimed to examine how students express their opinions and emotions toward the female main character’s resistance in the film Photocopier. It also aimed to analyze how those opinions and emotions may influence students’ potential actions when faced with sexual harassment issues in real life. Using an audience response method, data were collected through observations that included film viewing, a classroom discussion, and an open-ended questionnaire. The study involved eleven female and two male graduate students in a literature teaching and appreciation course. The results showed that each student experienced conflicting opinions and emotions with regard to the main character’s resistance. After watching the film, students felt motivated and inspired to advocate for victims of sexual harassment in real life. The researcher argues that conflicting opinions and emotions were inevitable consequences of students’ critical thinking and emotional processes while responding to the film. The negative opinions and emotions that even led to victim blaming did not hinder them from supporting the main character’s efforts to obtain justice. Furthermore, the researcher argues for the necessity of developing audience responses to films as a powerful strategy in critical literature pedagogy.

The development of foreign literature, embodiment of emotional value in modern, contemporary foreign literature is more attentive on experience, through reading it, one can understand humanistic, personal feelings embedded in the work and grasp the author’s personality, spiritual experience. To analyze sentiment data of foreign literary works, proposed Emotion Analysis of Literary Works Based on Qutrit-inspired Fully Self-supervised Quantum Neural Network Method (EA-LW- QIFSQN). Initially input data are collected from NLP-dataset. Afterward, the input data provided to preprocessing. In preprocessing segment Federated Neural Collaborative Filtering (FNCF) is used to clean the unwanted data. Then preprocessed data is fed to feature extraction, synchro spline-kernelled chirplet extracting transform (SKCET) is used to extract two features such as textual features and lexical features. Afterwards QIFSQN is used to classify the emotions likes joy, sadness, anger, fear. Generally, QIFSQN doesn’t show some optimization adaption techniques to determine optimum parameter to offer accurate detection. Polar Coordinate Bald Eagle Search Algorithm (PCBSOA) is proposed to enhance QICCN classifies the emotions accurately. The proposed technique is executed and efficacy of EA-LW- QIFSQN technique is assessed with support of numerous performances like accuracy, recall, precision and F1-scorce is analyzed. Then, performance of EA-LW- QIFSQN technique is analyzed with existing techniques like emotion analysis of literary works depend on attention mechanisms with fusion of two-channel features (EA-LW-CNN), integrative improvement of modern literary works with traditional culture combined by semantic association network modeling(EA-LW-SAN) and emotion expression in modern literary appreciation: emotion-depend analysis (EA-LW-RFA) respectively.

Literary works are created from human feelings; the emotions are written through words and give aesthetic value to the audience. A short story is a short form of narrative literature that works similarly to a novel but is not longer than a novel and the plot of the story is simpler and it can be finished in one sitting. A short story is not simply built by ‘words’, there are components or elements that build the story until the end. Recognizing and identifying the structure of a short story is important; it is one of the ways to show appreciation for the literature and help people understand the implied meaning in it. In this article, the findings are conducted through intrinsic elements analysis of the selected short story entitled “The Oval Portrait” by Edgar Alan Poe. The story is analyzed in digital form and it is taken from a website on the internet. The descriptive qualitative method is used in the article to help interpret the elements found in the story. The results show that there are four significant intrinsic elements in the short story: plot, character, setting and narrative perspective.
