Abstract:Fluorescence spectra of strontium sulphide phosphors activated by three activators viz. Mn, Cu, and Gd individually and in different combinations have been discussed at length. X-ray is used as excitation source. Probable inferences are drawn regarding energy transfer phenomenon. The two channels for transfer of energy are concluded in present phosphor series. A model is also proposed.
