Emission of bound optical modes of photonic glasses from silica spheres

Abstract: The effect of bound optical modes of photonic glasses from silica spheres on their luminescence in the visible range of the spectrum is investigated. It is shown that local photonic states give rise to a fine structure in luminescence spectra, positions of the maxima of which depend on the diameters of SiO 2 nano spheres.
