Emerging Separation Techniques in Supercritical Fluid Chromatography

Abstract: Supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) has unique separative characteristics distinguished from those of HPLC and gas chromatography. At present, SFC is widely used and there are many applications in various biological, medical, and pharmaceutical fields. In this review, we focus on recently developed novel techniques related to SFC separation including: new column stationary phases, microfluidics, twodimensional separation, and gas-liquid separation. In addition, we discuss the application of SFC using a wa… Show more

“…SFC is a developing chromatographic technique that is expected to provide faster separation with higher resolutions in comparison with HPLC and GC [1][2][3][4][5][6]. Detection in SFC is mainly performed by UV visible absorption [7] Article Related Abbreviations: ECD, electrochemical detection; FL, fluorescence detection; IS, internal standard; αT, α-tocopherol; αT3, α-tocotrienol; βT, β-tocopherol; βT3, β-tocotrienol; γT, γ-tocopherol; γT3, γ-tocotrienol; δT, δ-tocopherol; δT3, δ-tocotrienol and MS [8,9], but other detection methods have also been applied in SFC to enhance its performance and application.…”
