Emerging High-Frequency Ultrasound Imaging in Medical Cosmetology

Abstract: Cosmetic skin diseases are a part of many dermatological concerns brought up by patients, which negatively affect mental health and quality of life. Imaging technology has an established role in the diagnosis of cosmetic skin diseases by recognizing information on deep skin lesions. Due to the complex physiological and pathological nature of cosmetic skin diseases, the diagnostic imaging performance varies greatly. Developing noninvasive technology models with wide applicability, particularly high-frequency ul… Show more

“…Ultrasound is a widely used noninvasive imaging examination with a long history. This can be used as a rapid and accurate method to locate the body filler, observe the tissue around the body filler, control the injection position of the body filler, and simultaneously evaluate the filling degree at the same time [9]. Therefore, ultrasound can be an effective and convenient testing tool for any injected filler and a means of monitoring sediment diffusion, including in animal experiments.…”

“…In the clinic, a variety of imaging techniques, such as highfrequency ultrasound and dermoscopy, have been used to assist in evaluating the effect of facial rejuvenation and diagnosing complications [6][7][8]. Ultrasound, a noninvasive soft tissue imaging technique, can detect a variety of echoes, obtain high-resolution images, and visualize skin and subcutaneous tissue changes due to different tissue densities [9,10]. It has been widely used in the evaluation of the efficacy of injectable dermal fillers.…”

“…In contrast, HFUS is a non-invasive imaging technique that can be used to assess skin photoaging. HFUS uses high-frequency sound waves to generate images of the skin and measure the thickness, elasticity, collagen content and other features of the skin [35]. SWE can specifically quantify tissue elasticity by generating and analyzing shear waves.…”

“…Odos riebalai sudaro palankią terpę bakterijoms daugintis, todėl svarbu neliesti veido odos rankomis, nenaudoti agresyvių šveitiklių, kurie gali nunešti uždegimą į kitą veido vietą. Kai kurie autoriai rekomenduoja švelniomis ir nedžiovinančiomis kosmetinėmis odos priemonėmis veidą valyti kas keturias valandas [18,22]. Odos priežiūros kasdieninės rutinos esminis veiksmas yra sebumo losjonų naudojimas, kurie atkuria odos balansą, palaiko odos pH, padidina kitų priežiūros priemonių veiksmingumą, padeda išvengti odos trūkumų.…”
