Emergent Topics in Research in Rural Areas

Abstract

Despite an overall increase in the research, most aspects of crime and safety perceptions in rural contexts have been overlooked until recently. There exist several avenues of research that remain open for further investigation in general, and from a sustainability perspective in particular. In this chapter, we propose a research agenda based on some of these most pressing research questions.
