Emergency surgery for hiatus hernias: does technique affect outcomes? A single-centre experience

Abstract: Background Emergency surgery for a hiatus hernia is usually a high-risk procedure in acutely unwell patients. Common surgical techniques include reduction of the hernia, cruropexy then either fundoplication or gastropexy with a gastrostomy.
