Emergency medical services and palliative care: protocol for a scoping review

Abstract: IntroductionThe purpose of emergency medical services (EMS) is to preserve life and limb in emergency situations. Palliative care, however, is not concerned with ‘life-saving’ measures, but the prevention and relief of suffering.
