Abstract:The superconductivity in systems containing the dispersionless (flat) bands might appear to be paradoxical, since the conventional Bardeen–Cooper–Schrieffer theory requires an infinite enhancement of the carrier masses. At the same time, the combination of a flat and steep (dispersive) bands within the multiple band scenario are expected to enhance the superconducting response and may potentially explain a high-temperature superconductivity in cuprates and metal hydrides.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
