“…For a more detailed practice of using jar burials in the Yayoi period, when ceramic jars are used as coffins, the mouth rim and neck of the vessel are commonly damaged (Komatu et al, 2010). Ceramic vessels that were used as coffins in the Mumun period of Korea usually had a small hole punched at the bottom (Song‐Nai & Mong‐Lyong, 1992). These procedures mentioned above are similar to three jar burials in the Gangshang site we investigated or jar burials from other sites in the Haidai area.…”
