Elucidating membrane structure and protein behavior using giant plasma membrane vesicles

Abstract: The observation of phase separation in intact plasma membranes isolated from live cells is a breakthrough for research into eukaryotic membrane lateral heterogeneity, specifically in the context of membrane rafts.
