“…Punica granatum elicited with 200 μM MJ displayed an increased accumulation of flavonols and phenols ( Chang et al, 2021 ). Bean varieties such as Phaseolus vulgaris , Glycine max , and Vigna radiata demonstrated a higher accumulation of isoflavanoids on MJ treatment ( Gómez et al, 2022 ).…”

“…Jasmonates, such as JA and MeJA, can trigger secondary metabolic pathways in plants, resulting in an arsenal of antimicrobial bioactive metabolites (such as isoflavonoids and volatile compounds) with diverse structures and preceding biochemical pathways [43]. Since COR mimics (+)-7-iso-jasmonoyl-L-isoleucine, it has been used as a tool to design synthetic structural analogs that can be used as stimulators of plant defense mechanisms in agriculture [44]. COR reduces the production of ROS by activating antioxidant enzymes and 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH)-radical scavenging, thereby preventing membrane peroxidation and denaturation of biomolecules under salinity stress in cotton [45], and it can enhance cabbage seedlings' resistance to black rot, which might be related to the variation of antioxidant enzyme activity, the O 2generation rate, or MDA content after 1 µg/mL COR application [22].…”

“…Although they only have a modest range among plants, they are primarily found in the leguminous family. Globally, the prime dietary origin of isofavones is mung bean, common bean, and soybean [21]. Black peas and green beans both contain certain isofavones, including daidzein, genistein, and glycitein, in very small amounts.…”
