“…A factor which could have had an influenced on this is a lower production of vitamin D at this time of year. In spite of the fact that Gran Canaria enjoys adequate and consistent levels of sunshine throughout the year, in studies carried out by our working group in medical students in Gran Canaria, it was observed that 61.2% of them had values of 25(OH) vitamin D below 30 ng/ml 18 we are not able to determine 19 . Although to clarify this fact, it would be necessary to understand the circumstances in which hip fractures occurred.…”
