Electroresistance of La0.8Li0.2MnO3

Abstract: The electroresistance of La0.8Li0.2MnO3 has been measured at many applied currents and temperatures. As the magnitude of the current decreases, the electroresistance becomes more pronounced. Substantial electroresistance is observed over a wide range of temperatures. The greatest effect occurs well below the temperature of the metal-insulator transition.

“…The cooling and heating data are very similar; the slight difference between the two curves, most prominent around ∼90 K, is an artefact introduced by the temperature sensor being slightly displaced from the sample. These reproducible cooling and heating ρ – T curves are very similar to data for LLMO shown and discussed in detail previously 16. The other two ρ – T curves (solid lines) relate to the metastable state.…”

“…The infrared optical properties 14 and ferromagnetic resonances 15 of LLMO have also been investigated. Recently, LLMO has been demonstrated to have a substantial ER over a wide temperature range, but decoupled from the CMR 16. All these works employ polycrystalline LLMO.…”
