“…The Curie temperatures T C of the investigated Co Experimental results [47,48] earlier by relying on the semi-empirical Mohn-Wohlfarth theory [51] were taken from Qi et al [49] for fcc Co, from Kashyap et al [22] for ordered Co-Pt compounds and from Ghosh et al [50] for disordered Co x Pt 1−x alloys. Experimental values [47,48] are shown for comparison.…”

“…To test this approach, we investigate finite-temperature magnetic properties of Pd-rich Fe x Pd 1−x alloys, with Fe concentrations up to 20 at.%, as well as of ordered and disordered Co 3 Pt, CoPt and CoPt 3 alloys that are interesting both for fundamental reasons and for possible use in industrial applications because of their high magnetic anisotropy [20,21]. Theoretical investigations of finite-temperature magnetism of these systems failed so far to reproduce experimental results with satisfactory accuracy [22].…”

“…For these reasons lots of work on optical and magneto-optical characterization of these systems are available in recent literatures [17]. Theoretical calculations include anisotropic electrical resistivity studies by Ebert et al [18], investigation of electronic structure and magnetic properties of ordered CoPt alloys by Kashyap et al [19], study of magnetism in disordered CoPt alloys by Ebertet al [20] and calculation of ground state properties of CoPt by Shick et al [21]. But, the interesting problem of interrelations of magnetism and local ordering has failed to draw much attention.…”

“…For this reason, Al is only weakly spinpolarized by neighboring magnetic atoms, as exemplified by Al in MnAl, where the moment m = 0.061 µB per Al atom . Platinum is a well-known exchange-enhanced Pauli paramagnet (χ/χp ≈ 3.8), closer to satisfying the Stoner criterion and, in the vicinity of Fe or Co, develops a magnetic moment m of the order of 0.5 µB per atom [Kashyap 1999]. When graphene is deposited onto a magnetic substrate, then the substrate also exerts an exchange field J*.…”
