Electron re-collision dynamics in strong mid-IR fields for diffraction imaging of molecular structure and its fragmentation
Benjamin Wolter
Abstract:One of the grand challenges of modern science is to image chemical reactions and biological functions while they are taking place. To realize these molecular movie, experimental techniques need to resolve the relevant molecular motions on their natural dimensions, namely sub-atomic (≤10 ‾‾10 m) spatial dimensions and in few- to hundreds of femtoseconds (10 ‾‾15 ) in duration.
A developing molecular imaging technique is based on laser-induced electron diffraction (LIED). Here, an intense electric … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
