“…Presented results reflect the development of a beam or beam-anisotropic instabilities in the ionospheric plasma, some of them being a consequence of more complex combination (nonlinear) mechanisms of interaction, developing during injection of a beam into a beam. Baranets et al (1999Baranets et al ( , 2000, and Oraevsky et al (2001) analyzed waves generated during the DC and modulated electron beam injections in the near zone in a special dayside configuration when the electron beam was injected downward (α pe ≃ 74 − 87 • ) and, asynchronously to the UEM cycle (S250 modulation mode), the neutral xenon/xenon plasma (F0 mode) were released upward (α pi ≃ 121 − 132 • ), see also Figure 3. Beam-plasma discharge did not occur during this quasi-transverse injection, conditions for the beam-plasma instability development/suppression were investigated in these papers.…”
