Electromagnetic interference from a three phase double circuit 765-kV test line

Abstract: T h s paper presents the results of long-tenn electromagnetic interference(En/lI) measurements on the bundle of 6 Cardinal conductors tested at the Kochang 765-kV 111 scale test line. The instrumentation, and the most important features of the facilities are also described This new 3-phase double circuit test line can be energized at line-to-line voltages up to 850 kV. The analysis of the data shows that the 6-Cardinal conductor bundle meets the radio and television interference guidelines of the Korea Electnc… Show more

“…A gap spark-over that represents a complete discharge can occur within line components in the form of dirty, cracked or loose insulators, splices, tie wires, hardware parts, defective electrical apparatus etc. Corona and gap sparkovers cause an electromagnetic interference effect (EMI) on power transmission lines and substation apparatus; they have been examined both experimentally and theoretically for many years already [1,2,5,7,8,13,14]. Assessment of their influence is an important diagnostic factor of electrical power equipment.…”
