Electrokinetic Properties of 3D-Printed Conductive Lattice Structures

Abstract: Lattice structures with lattice parameters in the mm range are routinely fabricated by additive manufacturing. Combining light weight and mechanical strength, these structures have plenty of potential applications. When composed of conducting elements, a 3D lattice has interesting electrical and electromagnetic properties. In this work, the electrokinetic properties of a conducting lattice are described by mixing the theory of resistor networks and continuous-medium electrodynamics. Due to the length scale pro… Show more

“…In a previous study, the effective medium model for 2D periodic arrays of CNTs was considered. The 3D lattice of macroscopic conductors for calculating the parameters of composites fabricated by 3D printing technology was considered in a previous study . However, in our opinion, the most adequate model of an aerogel media is the 3D wire lattice model with contacts at the intersection points …”

“…The 3D lattice of macroscopic conductors for calculating the parameters of composites fabricated by 3D printing technology was considered in a previous study. [27,28] However, in our opinion, the most adequate model of an aerogel media is the 3D wire lattice model with contacts at the intersection points. [20] In an earlier study, [29] we proposed to use the model of a regular wire medium [20] as a structural model of an aerogel medium.…”
