Electrodynamical forbiddance of strong quadrupole light-molecule interaction in the methane molecule and its manifestation in surface enhanced hyper Raman scattering spectra
Abstract:It is demonstrated in the framework of the Dipole-Quadrupole theory, that strong quadrupole light-molecule interaction, which is responsible for the most enhancement of SEHRS in the methane molecule, which belongs to the d T symmetry group, experiences so-called electrodynamical forbiddance due to electrodynamical law 0 = divE , and does not influence on the formation of the SEHRS spectra. This forbiddance results in the fact that the lines, caused by the totally symmetric vibrations, transforming after the un… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
