“…When the electrode oxide is highly nonstoichiometric with large amount of defects on oxygen sublattice, the bulk diffusion through the electrode is the predominant reaction path. Typical examples are La 1¹x Sr x CoO 3¹D 38,40,50,64,68 in oxidizing atmospheres and doped CeO 2 55 in reduced atmospheres.…”

“…However, exposure to a high temperature caused cracking of the fi lm. Sase et al [ 28 ] made fi lms of La 0.6 Sr 0.4 CoO 3− δ (LSC64) at a low oxygen pressure of 0.01 mbar, 600 ° C, and 200 mJ cm − 2 , obtaining dense and fl at fi lms for further electrochemical studies. Yang et al [ 29 ] deposited both La 0.6 Sr 0.4 Co 0.2 Fe 0.8 O 3− δ (LSCF6428) and La 0.5 Sr 0.5 CoO 3− δ (LSC55) fi lms at oxygen partial pressure of 0.26 mbar, a laser fl uence of 10 J cm − 2 and a substrate temperature range 100 to 500 ° C. The obtained fi lms consist of vertically aligned nano-pores.…”

“…Compared with bulk SOFCs, thin film SOFCs (TFSOFCs) are more cost-effective, have wider range of fuel options and higher fuel efficiency, and are considered to be one of the possible energy harvesting alternatives [5,6]. Recent research efforts mainly focus on lowering the TFSOFCs operating temperature (500e700 C or lower) by exploring new materials and optimizing the component microstructures.…”
