“…32,33 One of the most effective approaches to tailor the OSC was found to be doping the CeO 2 nanoparticles with other metallic elements such as Zr, Ti, Cu, Mn, Fe, and Cr. [33][34][35][36][37] Recently, our group reported that the incorporation of secondary metal ions (Zr 4+ , Cu 2+ , and Ti 4+ ) into the CeO 2 lattice improved the OSC significantly compared to pristine counterpart. 33 This was attributed to enlarged physical surface area, increased oxygen defects in the structure, and weakened metaloxygen binding energy which enable easier oxygen release from the structure.…”
