Electrochemical synthesis and characterization of TiO2-polyaniline composite layers

Abstract: The electrochemical formation of TiO 2 -polyaniline (PANI) composite layers was studied by anodic polymerization of aniline in the presence of TiO 2 nanoparticles. The composite layers were investigated for their electrochemical, photoelectrochemical, and surface morphological characteristics. It was found that thick composite layers showed no photoresponse, whereas thin layers, prepared by a few potentiodynamic scans, have small photocurrents almost independent of the layer thickness. Due to the small photocu… Show more

“…Different CP-TiO 2 composite materials have been prepared both by chemical [13][14][15] and electrochemical [16][17][18][19][20][21] means. These composite materials have been synthesized for different applications: electrochemical actuators [17], corrosion protection [18] and PV cells [13,19,21]. In this study a PAz-TiO 2 composite has been synthesized by electrochemical polymerization of Az in a suspension containing TiO 2 nanoparticles.…”

“…Recently, UV-induced photoreduction was used for the formation of Pt particle-modified PANI and TiO 2 -PANI composite layers [266]. This turned out to be an effective approach for achieving a homogeneous distribution of small enough metal particles on the CP surface.…”
