“…Dulay, Lozano‐Sánchez, Iwuoha, Katakis, and O’Sullivan () continued the work of Rosales‐Rivera et al () for the development of an ECIS for the detection of TGA. The instrumentation and electrochemical setup were similar to as adapted for AGA detection (Rosales‐Rivera et al, ). The ECIS was compared with ELISA indicating a good correlation.…”

“…An immunosensor was also developed (Rosales‐Rivera, Acero‐Sánchez, Lozano‐Sánchez, Katakis, & O’Sullivan, ) using a similar principle (Balkenhohl & Lisdat, ). The antigen was immobilized on the gold surface using a carboxylic‐ended bipodal alkanethiol, which was covalently linked with amino groups of the antigen protein.…”

“…In relation to the detection of gliadin autoantibodies, although being a less specific biomarker for CD diagnosis by serological tests, some electrochemical immunosensors for the detection of antigliadin antibodies have been reported. For instance, Rosales et al developed an EI using gold electrodes with oriented covalent modification of gliadin on the electrode surface [16]. The amperometric detection was also conducted using the enzymatic system HRP-TMB.…”

“…Recently, several electrochemical assays for the detection of auto‐antibodies and genetic markers associated with celiac disease have been developed by one of our groups. Highly stable and electron permeable self‐assembled monolayers of a carboxylic acid terminated dithiol scaffold on gold or supramolecular polymeric assemblies were used to covalently link tTG , digested gliadin , or IgA to develop sandwich‐type amperometric immunosensors to detect the corresponding autoantibodies in serum samples of celiac patients with low LODs and the results were in all cases compared with an standard ELISA with excellent correlation. In addition, we have reported a multiplexed electrochemical genosensor on ten probes specific to DQA1 and DQB1 alleles immobilised on an array of 36 electrodes.…”
