Electrochemical determination of ascorbic acid, uric acid and folic acid using carbon paste electrode modified with novel synthesized ferrocene derivative and core–shell magnetic nanoparticles in aqueous media

Abstract: 2-(4-Ferrocenyl-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl)-1-(naphthalen-2-yl)ethanone (2FTNE) and magnetic core-shell manganese ferrite nanoparticles (CMNP) were fabricated and applied to produce a modified carbon paste electrode (CPE). The electrochemical behaviour of ascorbic acid (AA) was investigated using cyclic voltammetry and measured by square wave voltammetry along with that of uric acid (UA) and folic acid (FA). The 2FTNECMNP-modified CPE (2FTNECMNPPE) had electrocatalytic activity towards AA oxidation that was greater th… Show more

“…The results illustrated the reproducible reaction with both anodic and cathodic peaks, observed at potentials 0.25 and −0.11 V. Additionally, by increasing the number of cycles, the continuous growth of Nq film was obtained. The peak separation potential ΔE p = (E pa − E pc ) was calculated to be 0.36 V (was higher than 0.059 V) as expected for a quasi-reversible system [ 48 ]. Then, the Nq/GCE behavior in 0.10 M PBS (pH 7.0) was examined under various scan rates ranging from 25 to 500 mV/s, as displayed in Figure 6 .…”

“…Where C 0 is the concentration of the AA, n is a number of electrons involved in the oxidation (n = 2), and α is transfer coefficient (0.5) [70][71][72]. The calculated D value for irreversible oxidation of AA is 2.96 0.18 × 10 À 5 cm 2 s À 1 .…”

“…[32][33][34] Among them, the electrochemical sensing remains as a simple cost-effective alternative that also offers high sensitivity, reliability and reproducibility. 31,[35][36][37][38] In this context, we report for the first time the optimization of MWCNT-MCM-41 hybrid preparation through an experimental design based on Central Composite Design (CCD)/ Response Surface Methodology (RSM). 39 RSM is a collection of statistical and mathematical techniques helpful for developing, improving, and optimizing processes.…”
