Electrocatalytic performance of tyrosinase detection in Penaeus vannamei based on a [(PSS/PPy)(P2Mo18/PPy)5] multilayer composite film modified electrode

Abstract: Polyoxometalates (POMs) are widely used in the preparation of sensors that detect the content of substances because of their excellent electron transfer capabilities. In this paper, the [(PSS/PPy)(P2Mo18/PPy)5] multilayer composite...

“…According to the equation of LOD (limit of detection) = 3.3 × SD of intercept/slop ( Wang et al., 2017 ), where SD is the standard deviation of intercept, an outstanding LOD of 1.9 fM was extracted ( Figures S13 A and S13B). A comparison of the sensing performance of tyrosinase activity between our bio-FETs and documented methods ( Ciui et al., 2018 ; Ding et al., 2021 ; Li et al., 2012 , 2018 ; Liu et al., 2017 ; Wang et al., 2019 ; Yan et al., 2019 ; Yarman, 2018 ; Zhou et al., 2016 ) is shown in Table S2 . Compared to previously reported methods for tyrosinase sensing, our bio-FETs are more advantageous in LOD with an acceptable linear range, which could be used as an accurate screening approach to monitor the tyrosinase level.…”

“…3d). 36 By electrodeposition, a CS-rGO/P2Mo17Cu/PLL modied electrode was constructed, featuring high stability, high reproducibility and fast response time. Such a POM-based ECS was successfully applied to the qualitative and quantitative detection of eugenol residues in the kidney, liver and meat tissues of perch with high recoveries (85.43-93.60%).…”

“…Tyrosinase (TYR), as a multifunctional copper-containing enzyme, is widely distributed in plants, animals, and microorganisms. Since TYR catalyzes the reaction of hydroxylation of monophenols to diphenols, TYR has been found as the key enzyme within the biosynthetic pathway of endogenous melanin. ,, In addition, the TYR activity is not only thought to be associated with melanoma cancer and skin diseases but is also the factor that influences the nutritional value of food. , Thus, monitoring the activity of TYR precisely possesses great significance from clinical diagnosis to the food industry. , In the past few years, a variety of methods have been reported for the detection of TYR, such as colorimetric, spectrophotometric, and fluorescence-based methods. ,,, However, these approaches generally require fluorogenic- or chromogenic-labeled substrates, which are expensive, complicated, and time-consuming . Therefore, it is desirable to develop a simple, label-free, and high-performance sensor platform for the detection of TYR.…”
