Electro‐conductive modification of polyethylene terephthalate fabric with nano carbon black and washing fastness improvement by dopamine self‐polymerized layer

Abstract: Modification of textiles with new applications target such as electroconductive fabrics has recently attracted researchers. In this article, carbon black nanoparticles (CB NPs) were applied to polyester fabric through two separate high temperature (HT) exhaustion processing with NaOH and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as alkali hydrolysis catalyst and dispersing agents. To improve the stability of CB NPs on the fabric a self‐polymerized compound, dopamine (DA) was used in a simple dipping method at room… Show more

“…Carbon black as an amorphous form of carbon with a structure similar to disordered graphite, is one of the most widely used fillers for the fabrication of conductive polymer composites as well as reinforced composites 31 . The high conductivity (0.1‐10 S/cm), high surface area to volume ratio, and low price are the key factors which are attracting the interests of researchers on CB 32 . CB exhibits a high electrical conductivity even at a low filler content for it contains graphite structures with delocalized π ‐electrons in the molecules.…”
