Electrical Properties of Xenon-Filled Thermionic Diodes in the Radiation Field of a Nuclear Reactor

Abstract

SUMMARYExperimental data on nuclear-irradiated xenon-gas-filled thermionic diodes a r e presented. The characteristic curves for the irradiated diodes were studied as a function of xenon pressure (4 to 300 t o r r (5X1O2 to 4x10 N/m )), nuclear radiation intensity (gamma dose rate lo8 to 6X1O8 rads/hr (lo6 to 6x10 6 J/(kg)(hr))), emitter t e m p e r a h r e
