Electric field characteristics of X-ray detection and safety protection in live work of transmission lines

Abstract: Hidden defects in transmission lines can be detected by X-ray. Through the simulation of different voltage/current tests in the laboratory, the live detection test of digital X-ray detection equipment was carried out and the detection tests under the live condition of 110kV transmission line carried by unmanned aerial vehicle, the maximum tolerable voltage of X-ray digital imaging equipment during live operation was determined. By using the electric field finite element simulation, the affected field intensity… Show more

“…But other defects, such as the steel anchor with burrs and under pressure of the steel anchor slot at the pressure of the aluminum tube cannot be detected. With the increasing use of X-ray nondestructive testing to find electrical equipment [3] , X-ray nondestructive testing provides an intuitive, convenient means of detection compared to traditional methods. With X-ray nondestructive testing technology in applying the quality of crimping of strain clamps, many X-ray pictures of strain clamps need to be identified manually to detect defects [4] .…”

“…The traditional methods of strain clamps' detection are complicated and inefficient, such as appearance detection, size testing, mechanical properties of random detection [1] . Now the detection technique based on X-ray images is gradually promoted for electrical equipment [2] , strain clamps not excluded. And with the advancement of image processing technology, the detection of defects has become more and more convenient.…”
