In clinical practice the Impella has been utilized for various indications, such as bridge-to-recovery, bridge-to-transplantation, or bridge-to-surgery, (1–8) but in the setting of bridge-to-bridge application there are very limited reports, mainly utilizing a femoral approach as surgical access (4, 9–11). Here we present our experience with this device utilization as bridge to long-term LVADs, highlighting the potential advantages of the right axillary artery approach.…”
