Abstract: BackgroundDysphagia, as a geriatric syndrome, is prevalent in the intensive care unit (ICU). Malnutrition resulting from swallowing disorders is likely to correlate with adverse ICU outcomes, including delirium, thereby escalating the costs of care and hospitalization.
