The oppression of single mothers generally takes specifi c forms in a neoliberal society, because the traditional pressure associated with the female caring role is accompanied by an oppression that stems from their dependence on the welfare system. Social work can play an important role in this oppression in that, as one of the 'psy' professions, it becomes a tool for surveilling a woman's fulfi lment of the female caring role and at the same time seeks to discourage women from being dependent on the welfare system. The aim of the article is to refl ect on the risk of oppression from Czech social work that single mothers are exposed to within the context of the cultural policy of the neoliberal state. The surveillance techniques that social workers use were identifi ed on the basis of an analysis of Michel Foucault's work. This analysis revealed how the promotion of the idea of a human as homo oeconomicus plays a role in the process of social workers' assessments and the method of intervention they choose. Other signifi cant surveillance techniques may include the illusion that the profession's knowledge is neutral, the duty of confession, and gatekeeping.

Migrant women have a greater potential to experience limits when using maternity care than non-migrant women; therefore, they have a greater risk of vulnerability. Vulnerability and barriers to maternity care have the potential to erode trust, which is an important aspect of maternity care in general. In this exploratory qualitative study, we analyzed factors influencing trust in interactions between migrant women and healthcare professionals in maternity care. In total, 71 in-depth interviews were conducted with migrant women and healthcare professionals in the Czech Republic. Migrant women generally trust medical care, and healthcare professionals trust the capacity of women's bodies and their expertise. Unfortunately, in relation to women giving birth, healthcare professionals do not see the importance of building or strengthening trust but appreciate obedience, no matter what it is based on. In this context, healthcare professionals are limited by the routinization of care and a lack of time. Consequently, migrant women have a higher probability of being excluded from maternal care as active agents, which increases their vulnerable position.

Background: Globalization has reached a point where interaction with people from different sociocultural backgrounds is an integral part of everyday life for all of us. The growing number of migrants is noticeable in the field of health care around the world. Care of women with migratory experience is now common in midwife practice. Those mentioned facts covers concepts of transcultural nursing and the needs of theory and practice. The midwife care should be based on an individualized partnership with a woman, which will allow interventions to be adapted to current uniqe needs. aim: The aim of this article is to find and connect theoretical aspects and specifics of midwife practice, which can be crucial in providing nursing care for a woman with different sociocultural background. Methods: The review article is a theoretical research based on a study and analysis of available professional publications in printed and electronic form. Those information was drawn from the total number of 24 domestic and foreign reference sources, which are listed in the Literature section at the end of the article. results: Selected theoretical aspects associated with the transcultural nursing care were connected and applied in the field of midwery. The research strategy based on literature sources provided focus on the Partnership model concept which was unpublished in Czech translation until now. These concept seems to be an effective tool for identifying individual peculiarities with the benefit of focusing on the cultural differences of the each woman´s uniqe needs. conclusion: The presented information trace information trace theoretical context of the most important aspects of trancultural care in midwifery. In addition to knowledge of existing conceptual model tools, the requirements for this care include also intercultural communication skills or awareness of the importance of issues related to confession. Both communication and faith are directly connected with the cultural or ethnic identity of each woman and are always completely individual. To understand the current state of the issue, a short historical excursion is attached to selected chapters.
