“…Among the effective methods for highperformance treatment of functional surfaces of precision parts is a method of surface plastic deformation, which is called burnishing [25]. The burnishing process results not only in a significant reduction of roughness of the surface layer up to 100 or less nanometers [4,5] but also in an increase of its strength properties, wear and fatigue resistance. It has been found that the change in properties of burnished surfaces is associated with structural changes of a thin surface layer, which, in terms of physical mesomechanics [6], can be taken as an independent system of nanoclusters with specific mechanisms of plastic flow being nondislocational in nature.…”
