Elastic scattering and total reaction cross sections for theB8,Be7

Abstract: Angular distributions for the elastic scattering of 8 B, 7 Be and 6 Li on 12 C target have been measured at E lab = 25.8 MeV, 18.8 MeV and 12.3 MeV, respectively. The analyses of these angular distributions have been performed in terms of the optical model using Woods-Saxon and double-folding type potentials. The effect of breakup in the elastic scattering of 8 B + 12 C is investigated by performing coupled-channels calculations with the Continuum Discretized Coupled Channel (CDCC) method and cluster-model fol… Show more

“…Our results reproduce the experimental data better than the analysis of the data [28] with optical-model calculations using São Paulo potential with energy dependence and nonlocality correction [58]. The imaginary part of the latter potential has the same form factor as the real part that has not been renormalized (N R = 1), but with a normalization of N I = 0.78.…”

“…However, in a latter work where reactions of several projectiles with a 12 C target were considered, the separation between halo and weakly-bound systems seems to disappear for this light target, see [36] …”
