Elastic αC12 scattering at low energies with the bound states of O16

Abstract: The elastic α-12 C scattering for l = 0, 1, 2, 3 channels at low energies is studied, including the energies of excited bound states of 16 O, in effective field theory. We introduce a new renormalization method due to the large suppression factor produced by the Coulomb interaction when fitting the effective range parameters to the phase sift data. After fitting the parameters, we calculate asymptotic normalization constants of the 0states of 16 O. We also discuss the uncertainties of the present study when th… Show more

“…Six parameters remain in the amplitudes. Four of them are effective range parameters of elastic α-12 C scattering for l = 1 [13]. One of them is fixed by using the binding energy of the subthreshold l = 1 state of 16 O, and the others are fitted to the phase shift data of the elastic scattering [15].…”

“…In this work, we study the inclusion of resonant 2 + 2 and 2 + 3 states of 16 O in the calculation of elastic α- 12 C scattering for l = 2. 2 A problem of the calculation of elastic α- 12 C scattering for l = 2 at low energies in EFT [8,9,14], and also in the other calculations in which the effective range expansion is adopted [15], is small values of asymptotic normalization coefficient (ANC) of the 2 + 1 state of 16 O. A typical value of the ANC using the effective range expansion is |C b | ≃ 2 × 10 4 fm −1/2 .…”
