Abstract:An inverse elastic flexural model with compressive thrusting is applied to the northern Green River Basin, Wyoming. A combination of six parameters in the model determines the deformational processes of basement due to sediment load and compressive thrusting: flexural rigidity, lateral stress, bending moment, initial load, dip angle of the basement, and length. The results suggest that the northern Green River Basin develops dominantly as an elastic flexural response to the deformation of basement due to compr… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
