Elastic and rotational excitation cross sections for electron–nitrous oxide collisions

Abstract: ABSTRACT:We present a theoretical study on electron-N 2 O collision in the low energy range. More specifically, we report calculated elastic and rotationally inelastic differential, integral, and momentum transfer cross sections in the 1.5-30-eV range. An optical potential is used to represent the electron-molecule interaction. The Schwinger variational method is used to solve the scattering equations.
