El software de gestión integral de la atención primaria, una herramienta de análisis de los indicadores de utilización

Abstract: A small section of the population causes over half the consultations. The characteristics of these users need to be analysed so that programmes can be worked out to decrease their frequency of use. The integrated management software for primary care enables this information to be analysed and serves as a support for the primary care teams. Special attention needs to be paid to the population that does not use the health centres.

“…It has not been possible to compare the frequency of use of our participants with those published in other works, because a general population sample has not been used in the design. In population design studies it seems that the immigrants use services less than the autochthonous population, 12 and that there is a predominance of female immigrants when visiting clinics. 10 As regards gynaecology, it was found that the RR of being seen in a clinic was higher for the immigrant group, a fact that may be explained by its higher birth rate.…”

“…Also, as has been done in previous studies, non-registered users and nonresidents were not included to avoid confounding factors, due to the belief that these might have a different behaviour pattern in using health services. 10,12 Another aspect to take into account is that of double health cover (public and private), since this could mean that part of the population that uses it may use more health services that are not public. If this situation is occurring differentially in the autochthonous population, it could explain why this group uses public services less compared to the immigrant group.…”

“…Más bien, depende de la calidad del sistema educativo, de la higiene en la alimentación, vivienda, condiciones laborales y la logística en la distribución de recursos (Gervas, 2008). Lo dicho, repercute en el nivel sociocultural de la población y por lo tanto en la percepción que tienen los usuarios de los procesos de saludenfermedad y de los servicios de salud (Díaz et al, 2002).…”

“…The total number of visits directly related to mental illness made to primary care centres was obtained by averaging the figures given in several studies that have counted a total of 861,343 visits per annum in general terms [6,9]. These studies have calculated that 5.6% of visits made to primary care are made by patients with mental illness.…”
