Show more

“…Among suspect components, hitherto limiting an application of rapeseed as animal feedstuff and excluding it from human food, a special role has been played by glucosinolates and thyreotoxic, nephrotoxic and hepatotoxic compounds formed from it through enzymatic-hydrolytic splitting or by subsequent desmolysis [47, 81, 138, 1641. Either alone or in combination with other universally distributed components, these lead to metabolic disturbances and degenerative pathological changes in organs [7,23, 74, 113, 124, 2331. In the foreground of scientific research therefore stands, in addition to selection for breeding [2,30,87,88,146,147,177,2201, the ascertainment of new technical principles of detoxification [16,26,31,152,167,1801. In this connection is important the production of protein-enriched products from defatted seed meal or seed with acceptable functional and physiological properties [4, 1601. negatively correlated with the fat content of the seed.…”
