“…Therefore, events like climate and land use changes, and the introduction of exotic species were given higher value scores (Millenium Ecosystem Assessment, 2005;Sala et al, 1999;UNEP, 2005). The judgment to grant priorities to other events was based on the problems that threaten the territorial units in a regional context, for example, threats to the temperate forest, impacts of salmon farming and potential threats linked to the establishment of hydroelectric infrastructure (Buschmann & Pérez Matus, 2003;Lara, 2004;Pisano, 1996;Vött & Endlicher, 2001). It is important to emphasise the connection between the critical events; those occurring at a global scale restrict those occurring at a local scale.…”
