IrPS=Iridium‐Photosensibilisator, TEA=Triethylamin.

“…As initiated by the pioneering studies of the Bernhard research group,1 enormous advances in cyclometalated Ir III photosensitizers have been made in the pursuit of highly efficient visible‐light‐driven water‐reduction systems 116. Many different classes of cationic Ir III photosensitizers have been developed with the general structure [Ir III (C^N) 2 (N^N)] + , in which C^N is a monoanionic cyclometalating ligand and N^N is a neutral ancillary ligand 4.…”

“…To confirm the possible pathway of this transformation, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) was applied to study the photocatalytic reaction (Figure 1). 7h,k, 13 No EPR signal was observed when 2 a alone was tested under irradiation of visible light (Figure 1 A), similar to the mixture of 2 a and [Ru(phen) 3 ]Cl 2 in the absence of visible light (Figure 1 B). However, some strong signals were detected upon irradiation of the mixture of 2 a and [Ru(phen) 3 ]Cl 2 (Figure 1 C).…”
