Ein Quetiapin-assoziiertes malignes Neuroleptika-Syndrom mit letalem Ausgang bei einem Patienten mit wahrscheinlicher Alzheimer Demenz
Abstract:We present the case of a neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS) with lethal outcome in a patient with probable Alzheimer's disease (AD) treated with quetiapine in combination with pipamperone and mirtazapine. Although neuroleptic sensitivity in AD patients is low, we should remain aware of this risk. The NMS management of old people with advanced dementia may frequently be limited by multimorbidity, hence even early recognition and therapy may not prevent the lethal outcome.
