Die Komplexbildung von Tl(I) mit Thioharnstoff (TH) wurde systematisch untersucht. Es wurde eine Reihe neuer Verbindungen des Typs[Tl(TH)n] m+[Am−] erhalten, wobei n vom eingebauten Anion abhängig ist. In Gegenwart von Anionen der Ladung ≤ 2 und schwacher Komplexbildungsneigung zum Tl(I) (NO 3−, SCN−, SO 42−, SO 32−, S2O 32−, CO 32−) wurden 1:4‐Komplexe erhalten, während in Gegenwart von Anionen der Ladung >2 (PO 43−, Fe(CN) 64−) und starker Wechselwirkung mit Tl(I), (Cl−, Br−) 1:2‐ und 1:3‐Komplexe gebildet werden. Eine Ausnahme bildet [Tl(TH)6]J. Tl(I) erreicht in den Verbindungen die Koordinationszahlen 4 und 6.
