“…Congenital contractural arachnodactyly (CCA) is the name proposed by Beals and Hecht 119711 for an uncommon condition characterized by congenital joint contractures, arachnodactyly, dolichostenomelia, scoliosis, abnormal external ears, and autosomal dominant inheritance. Previous cases had been reported as "Marfan syndrome" (arachnodactyly) with arthrogryposis (amyoplasia congenita) , or under other designations [Avendaiio and Fanta, 1963;Beyer et al, 1965;Dayal et al, 1962;Epstein et al, 1968;Ghosh, 1966;Grenier et al, 1969;Kingsley-Pillers, 1946;Reeve et al, 1960;Thomas, 1914;Udani, 19551. Several reports have appeared in more recent years [Bard, 1979;Bjerkreim et al, 1976;Gruber et al, 1978;Hecht and Beals, 1972;Hernandez et al, 1977;Ho and Khoo, 1979;Kontras, 1975;Langenskiold, 1985;Lipson et al, 1974;Lowry and Guichon, 1972;MacLeod and Fraser, 1973;Meinecke et al, 1983;Mirise and Shear, 1979;Ramos Arroyo et al, 1985;Sanger and Wieman, 1975;Steg, 19751. Affected patients are born with symmetrical flexion contractures of variable severity involving elbows, knees, fingers, and sometimes also other joints.…”
