“…These studies consist predominantly of mortuary analyses conducted on formal burial sites, and especially on Jericho (e.g. Shay 1983;Palumbo 1987Palumbo , 1991Baxevani 1995). This is due to the good degree of preservation at Jericho and to the detailed reports written by Dame Kathleen Kenyon in the 1960s (these reports contain drawings of most of the tombs and their finds, as well as directions, measurements and conditions), which enable continued research and study of the archaeological data.…”
