“…On the other hand, they face a global crisis, with more than 20% of species classified in some threat status (Gibbons et al, 2000; Reading et al, 2010; Sinervo et al, 2010; IUCN, 2021). Consequently, the reptile fauna in Argentina was used by several authors to precisely define conservation priority areas, including examples in the Atlantic forest and Humid Chaco (Giraudo, 2001; Giraudo et al, 2003), Dry Chaco forest (Andrade-Díaz et al, 2019), Iberá Natural Reserve in center of Corrientes province (Etchepare et al, 2016), Rio de la Plata river basin and Santa Fe province (Arzamendia and Giraudo, 2004; 2012), Córdoba province (Nori et al, 2013a), Patagonia (Corbalán et al, 2011), and Ventania mountain range in south of Buenos Aires province (Di Pietro et al, 2018).
