This type was successfully used to collect honeydew from the leafhopper Dalbulus maidis (DeLong & Wolcott) (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae) in maize performing insecticide efficiency tests (Silveira 2019). Likewise, in order to evaluate the food consumption of D. citri in different native species of Rutaceae, initially, tests were performed using cage 3; however, the results were not considered satisfactory for the tested plants (presence of large and wide leaves), then system 1 cages were used which allowed an adequate collection of honeydew.…”
