Efficient Synthesis of 2,4-diamino-6-phenyl-1,4,5,6-tetrahydropyrimidine-5-carbonitriles

Abstract

Abstract-A simple and highly efficient producer has been described for Synthesis of 2,4-diamino-6-phenyl-1,4,5,6-tetrahydropyrimidine-5-carbonitriles from aldehyde 1, malenonitrile 2 and guanidine hydrochloride 3 ,freshly prepared sodium ethoxide in ethanol under reflux through condensation followed by cyclization to give desired products tetrahydropyrimidines 4 (P-1-P-10) (Scheme-1, Table-1). New tetrahydropyrimidines have been synthesized and characterization of these synthesized compounds is done by IR, NMR, 13 C NMR and mass spectral data.
